Guildford Park Church (GPC) is a group of local Christians who have found the Christian faith relevant for today.
We are a Bible based church which stands for the historic Christian faith and believes in the power of the living Lord Jesus to bless people’s lives today. We meet together each Sunday and have a range of other activities mid-week.
Located 5 minutes from the train station and the University of Surrey we are easy to find and there is plenty of free parking in the local car park!
Guildford Park Church originated as a church plant from Chertsey Street Baptist Church, which found itself completely full on Sunday mornings in 1992. Around this time they received a phone call from the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC) saying that the small church in Guildford Park was about to close but could that they could help to restart it.
After a lot of prayer, the church decided it could help and a small group moved over to Guildford Park and began morning meetings, under Chertsey Street’s wing.
Since 2006 Glenn Shotton has been the pastor of Guildford Park after Graham and Sally moved to help train and support pastors in Kenya. In 1996, Graham Jones was called to pastor Guildford Park, and under his ministry, supported by his wife Sally, the church there began to grow. By Easter 1999, Guildford Park was self-supporting and amicably became an independent congregation again.
“It is by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.”
